THE PRODUCER
Andrea Ribeiro Silva is a coffee producer from Brazil’s renowned Cerrado Mineiro region, where her family has worked in coffee cultivation for generations. Based at Fazenda Aragão, Andrea is part of Café Delas; a coffee sourcing initiative which works to increase visibility, opportunity, and economic participation for women in coffee farming. The programme began in Brazil through a partnership with the International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA) and has since expanded into other coffee-growing origins including Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, Colombia, and Honduras. The initiative was created in response to a long-standing imbalance in the coffee industry, where women often contribute heavily to farming and processing coffee but have historically had less access to land ownership, agricultural credit, technical training, leadership positions and direct control over income. Café Delas works to address this by sourcing coffee directly from women producers and ensuring the coffee is traceable to women-led farms.
Importantly, Café Delas is not positioned as a charity project. The focus is on recognising and supporting skilled coffee producers while improving access, visibility, and opportunity within the specialty coffee supply chain. The coffees are still selected and sold on quality first, with the programme designed to help ensure women producers receive greater recognition and participation in the value created by specialty coffee. We're proud to support this initiative and to be part of something doing real work to promote equality in the coffee industry.
THE COFFEE
This exceptional coffee comes from the renowned Cerrado Mineiro region, known for its consistent quality and ideal climate. The natural processing method accentuates the coffee’s inherent sweetness, delivering smooth caramel and milk chocolate notes with a delicate cinder toffee finish. Hints of roasted almond round out the flavour, creating a full-bodied and velvety cup. This coffee is versatile and can be brewed as a single-origin espresso or filter, offering a balanced and expressive Brazilian coffee experience.
THE REGION - MONTE CARMELO, CERRADO MINEIRO
Cerrado Mineiro is a well-known Brazilian coffee region, prized for its fertile soil, consistent climate, and high-quality coffee production. Monte Carmelo sits at ideal altitude and receives regular rainfall, providing optimal conditions for arabica cultivation. Coffees from this region are recognized for their sweetness, clarity, and balance, making them a benchmark for Brazilian specialty coffee.
THE PROCESS
After harvest, the cherries are dried using the natural process, where ripe cherries are left whole to dry in the sun. This method highlights the coffee’s natural sugars and fruit character, producing flavours of caramel, milk chocolate, roasted almond, and cinder toffee. The process is carefully monitored to ensure even drying and high quality in every lot.
IN THE CUP
A full-bodied and velvety coffee with sweet notes of caramel and milk chocolate, complemented by cinder toffee and roasted almonds. The cup is smooth, balanced, and expressive, delivering a classic Brazilian coffee experience that highlights the care and dedication of its producer.
