THE COFFEE

High in the mountains of Antioquia, Finca La Luisa showcases the cutting edge of Colombian coffee innovation. This unique lot is crafted through a double anaerobic fermentation with the addition of fresh peach juice, followed by a honey process that retains the coffee’s natural mucilage for added sweetness and body.

The result is an extraordinary cup: bursting with ripe peach flavour, candy-like sweetness, and a silky honey finish. Balanced yet adventurous, this coffee pushes boundaries while celebrating Colombia’s rich coffee heritage

THE REGION

Located near Ciudad Bolívar in the Antioquia department, Finca La Luisa benefits from volcanic soils, high altitudes, and stable temperatures - ideal conditions for slow cherry maturation and complex flavour development.

Antioquia’s producers are renowned for combining tradition with experimentation, and Juan Pablo Vélez is at the forefront of this movement. His innovative approach results in coffees that are not only expressive but also deeply rooted in Colombian terroir.

THE PROCESS

This lot undergoes a double anaerobic fermentation, both before and after pulping, in sealed tanks with fresh peach juice added during fermentation. This process infuses subtle stone fruit complexity into the beans.

The coffee is then dried using the honey method, allowing the sticky mucilage to remain on the parchment - enhancing body, sweetness, and aroma. Dried slowly on raised beds under careful supervision, the result is a coffee that is as elegant as it is vibrant.

IN THE CUP

Expect a juicy, fruit-forward cup with lush peach notes, playful candy sweetness, and a smooth honeyed finish. Balanced acidity and a medium body create a clean, expressive brew - ideal for filter or adventurous espresso. A true standout for lovers of experimental and flavour-packed coffees.
